Like many of its Suffolk neighbours, our church has been in use for Christian worship for more than seven centuries; it also has a special atmosphere and beauty of its own, standing just off Little Green and near the heart of our small village. St Margaret’s is a Grade 1 listed building. The church has a church Hall close by which is leased to the Village Hall Association. The population is made up of a small number of families and many retired people, spread across the parish but mainly centred around the very pretty village green. There is a close working relationship with the Parish Council and Village Hall Association, plus an enthusiastic Table Tennis Club.
Churchmanship is traditional and evangelical. A Fellowship Group meets in Eye and is attended by some church members. The Benefice Services and Lent Course are also supported by members of the congregation.
A warm welcome is always given to visitors from other parishes. The church is well looked after but will need money spent on it in the next few years.
