Our shared vision and mission
In early 2016,after our ‘new’ rector Revd Adrian Watkins was settled in, we had a number of benefice wide PCC meetings where we discussed and agreed a shared vision and mission.
To see God’s Kingdom come in the parishes of North Hartismere and beyond.
Vision and Mission:
To recognise the signs of God’s Spirit at work in our communities and the world and as a community of God’s people we seek to be those who through faith in Jesus Christ are a beacon of love and hope. Called to be God’s co-workers we aim to grow…
- in depth of relationship with God and one another,
- in number,
- Youthfulness and diversity and
- in fruitful engagement in our world both locally and globally
We aim to express our mission vision in 3 main areas:
To strengthen the spiritual and corporate life of our churches through shared worship, fellowship, learning, personal prayer and Bible reading, discernment and exercise of our gifts and wise stewardship of our resources.
To communicate God’s Word and the Gospel of Christ in word and deed
To serve others practically with the love of Christ and in His name.
To collaborate and work together wherever practically possible as a Benefice, demonstrating our unity and interdependence in Christ and with a view to strengthening our mission, ministry and presence in our six parishes and seven villages.
This is to be done in the context of deepening relationships with our deanery, diocese, and national and world-wide church, working ecumenically where possible.
